I have learnt through much trial and error that wisdom is ultimately the aspect that is the ruler of this world and God’s Kingdom, intelligence/smartness are certainly aspects gained, belonging and limited to this world.
Why is this important to you, you may be asking? It is a matter of literally life and death, to put it lightly. We can’t simply imagine a life without a knowledge of higher power ie wisdom, which we receive solely from the Lord our God through the Holy Spirit of things seen and unseen.
This morning I received that the battle of Jericho was in actual fact fought and won by our very own Jesus Christ, why? How come? These answers you will receive plainly in your spirit as confirmation and won’t need to ask any further questions but for the Thomas’s amongst us (jokes) I will assist in contextualising this possibility as far as possible, considering that is unscripted.
Now the word says, “And it came to pass, when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted his eyes and looked, and behold, a Man stood opposite him with His sword drawn in His hand. And Joshua went to Him and said to Him, “ Are You for us or for our adversaries?” So He said, “No, but as Commander of the army of the Lord I have now come.” And Joshua fell on his face to the earth and worshiped, and said to Him, “What does my Lord say to His servant?” Then the Commander of the Lord ’s army said to Joshua, “Take your sandal off your foot, for the place where you stand is holy.” And Joshua did so. Joshua 5:13-15 NKJV”.
Pay attention to a few things, Man, His etc is capital letters and all references to this Man. This man just appeared as Joshua didn’t see this Man in the distance but on when he looked up did he see this Man. Another point when asked who he is, he responds and says His the Commander of the armies of the Lord of God, when cross referenced to revelations 19 it says, “He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses. Revelation 19:13-14 NKJV”. This confirms to me that we referring to the same being. The Man allows Joshua to worship him and also instructs that he takes off his shoe as the ground is holy where he finds himself. Angels usually stop anyone who tries to worship him, so that’s not the case here.
Now how and when did Jesus win this battle because His not referenced again after this. The Canaanites who lived there in the city were people/giants who were living in sin amongst other reasons exposed in the scriptures.
Long story short this was a critical part of the Promised Land and Joshua was the vehicle while Jesus the Commander of the Armies of God was the overcomer to deliver this promise. To get to the point, another battle was already happening as Jesus went out to meet Commander of the ground army of God of Israel, a battle in spiritual realm against the army of the Prince of the Air was won already by the time Joshua showed up to do the clean up job on the ground.
I pray to the Lord God Almighty that this comes to you as a message about who God is the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit in one a force to be reckoned with once He takes hold of you.
In Jesus mighty name!
